4/19/2007...With Ohio's ace Jason Schmidt facing Burlington's ace Jeremy Bonderman, the season opener for 2007 looked to be a pitchers duel...but no. The Blue Jackets rocked Bonderman for 6 runs and went onto win 10-4. Ohio got things going in the 1st inning when rookie second baseman Dan Uggla smacked a 2-out bases loaded double to plate 2 runs. In the 3rd, David Wright doubled to increase the score to 4-0. Burlington closed in on the Blue Jackets in the 5th when Eliezer Alfonzo homered to plate 2 runs and Mike Young went back to back on Jason Schmidt to close the gap to 4-3. But in the 7th, Uggla hit a bases loaded triple to plate 3 runs and Miguel Olivo followed with a double to increase the score to 9-4. Justin Morneau added icing to the cake with a RBI double in the 8th and Ohio went on to win 10-4. Uggla, in his first game in the show went 2 for 4 with a double, triple and 5 RBIs.
