1) MALAGA COVE at BRANFORD: GAME 1: Malaga Cove won 6-1. Thome homered, doubled and knocked in 5 as Malaga Cove scored 3 runs in the 1st & 9th. inn's. Schilling improved to 4-2 (2.77). GAME 2: Branford won 11-8. Doumit doubled, homered and had 4 RBIs. Malaga Cove's Ordonez belted a grand slam in the 6th. inn. giving them an 8-5 lead, but after a 5 run 1st. inn. chased SP, Tavarez, Branford was shut-out until they plated 3 runs in both the 8th & 9th. inn's. off RP, A.J. Burnett. GAME 3: Malaga Cove won 9-4. Delgado went 3-5 with a home run and 4 RBIs. GAME 4: Branford won 6-1. Hardy & Jenkins each had a pair of RBIs. SP, Chico, allowed 3 hits in 5 1/3 to drop his ERA to 9.87 and Correia got the win in relief to go to 3-0 (1.90). Malaga Cove's Tavarez tried his luck again and it held until the 6th. inn. when he, again, gave up 5 runs in an inn. GAME 5: Branford won 17-11. Phillips & Braun both drove in 4 runs as did Malaga Cove's Edmonds. Malaga Cove's Ordonez was 4-4.
2) REDDING at DALLAS: GAME 1: Dallas won 5-4 in 11 inn's. Kinsler had 3 singles and 2 RBIs. Bartlett went 4-5 and scored twice. GAME 2: Dallas won 9-8. Adrian Gonzalez was 3-4 with 2 homers and 4 RBIs. Glaus' PH 3 run homer in the bottom of the 8th. broke a 6-6 tie. RP, Tony Pena, gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th, but survived to up his record to 3-0 (1.77). GAME 3: Redding won 9-5. Beltran homered twice and he drove across 4 runs. GAME 4: Redding won 7-0. Teahen had a single, 3 doubles and a solo HR in 5 trips. Haren upped his record to 8-2 (1.82). GAME 5: Redding took the rubber game 8-1. Beltran went 2-5 with a home run and 4 RBIs. Hudson improved to 5-2 (4.02).
