1) SAN JOSE at GLEN ELLYN: GAME 1: San Jose won 13-9. Carlos Guillen went 5-6, including 3 doubles, a home run and 5 RBIs. That's not a bad game for your lead-off man. Johjima was 4-5 with 2 RBIs. Wang allowed 4 hits in 6 1/3 to go to 9-6 (3.69). GAME 2: Glen Ellyn won 4-3. All 4 RBIs and all but 1 of 10 hits came from the 1st. 4 batters in the order. Pierre singled in the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. GAME 3: San Jose won 5-1. Willis gave up 2 hits in 5 inn's. and Saito allowed 1 hit in 3 inn's. and upped his record to 3-1 (2.41). Glen Ellyn's Hamels permitted 3 hits and fanned 13 over 8 2/3. San Jose won it with 4 runs in the top of the 9th. GAME 4: Glen Ellyn won 6-5 in 10 inn's. Pedroia's RBI double with no outs was the game winner. GAME 5: Glen Ellyn won 6-5. Delmon Young had a pair of singles and 2 RBIs. The Artesians plated all of their runs in the 3rd. inn.
2) BRANFORD at SPRING BRANCH: GAME 1: Branford won 3-0. Braun belted a 2 run homer and Bradley had a solo shot. Felix Hernandez allowed 5 hits in 8 inn's. for the win. GAME 2: Spring Branch won 5-2. Utley was 2-4 with a homer and 2 RBIs. Kazmir allowed 6 hits and struck out 10 in 7 inn's. to get to 10-5 (3.73). GAME 3: Branford won 16-1. SP, Owings, who wishes he was playing in the Senior Circuit, was 3-5 with 2 homers and 6 RBIs. He trew a CG 8 hitter for the win. GAME 4: Branford won 5-2. Derrek Lee went 3-4 with a homer and 2 RBIs. Chris Young allowed 5 hits in 7 2/3 to go to 12-1 (2.48). Francisco Cordero got save #19 (2.14). GAME 5: Branford won 7-3. McLouth homered and drove in 3 runs.
